Bulgaria Attractions

Bulgaria certainly has many attractions on offer for the young and older visitor and these are just a few suggestions.
Children are made very welcome in Bulgaria and the reasonable prices make it a good family destination. The obvious choice is to visit the Blapek Seacoast with its golden sandy beaches and warm shallow waters suitable for swimming. Here you will find plenty of playgrounds, go-karting and mini golf.  There are three main water parks, Aqua Paradise at Nessebar, Action Aquapark at Slunchev Bryag (Sunny Beach) and Aquapolis situated between Zlatni Pyasutsi (Golden Sands) and Albena. Varna has a Dolphinarium and there is a giant Ferris wheel overlooking Zlatni Pyasutsi. offers Black Sea holiday rental and villa rentals. You can rent a private villa in Sunny Beach directly from your local home owner. You will also find many child-friendly and inexpensive restaurants in the resorts to choose from. (See Coasts).
The capital Sofia is obviously an important attraction for city lovers. Most attractions there have been covered in Culture but here are a few more ideas. On a fine day take a stroll in Borisova Gradina the city’s largest park or why not explore the Zhenski Pazar (Women’s Market) an open-air bazaar selling fresh produce, clothing and household items and get a real flavour of Bulgarian life. For those visiting Sofia with children then do go to Sofia Zoo which was founded by royal decree on 1 May 1888, and is Bulgaria's oldest and largest zoological garden. brings together a great collection of Bulgaria holiday accommodation, Bulgaria holiday apartments, Bulgaria holiday villas and cottages. is unique in providing Bulgaria holiday lettings because we are the only site that allows you to find someone local to you who may have advertised their Bulgaria home.

Bulgaria has over one hundred Orthodox monasteries worthy of a visit such as Rila, Bachkovo and Troyan. (See Culture). At Vidin in the far north of Bulgaria and overlooking the Danube you will find one of the most splendid and complete fortresses in the Balkans. Baba Vida was begun in the tenth century and subsequent invaders added to and improved the fortress which had the important task of guarding central European trade routes. The fortress has a moat and in the summer hosts theatre productions.
For those who love heights and the outdoors visit the spectacular 7Km Trigrad Gorge in the Rhodopes mountain chain. Follow the steep, narrow road through the gorge and admire the view! Bulgaria has three National Parks to explore Pirin, Rila and Central Balkan with plenty of opportunities to do hiking, bird watching or wildlife tours. (See Outdoors). Don't forget, a holiday in Bansko or Sunny Beach, Bulgaria, staying in self catering accommodation makes an ideal family break.

Search for Bansko rental accommodation, Borovets holiday rentals, Golden Sands self catering apartments, Sunny Beach rental villas, St Vlas holiday rentals, Sofia holiday rentals, Varna, Plovdiv, Nessebar, Sozapol
